I learned about Privacy and Security in unit 3 and made a video on what I actually learned and researched. One of the most intriguing things that I learned about was online cookies. The best cookie to have on a website are performance cookies because they make the websites faster and improve the speed of functions. Key ways to stay safe online are to be careful what you search, where you go, and who you share your information with.

If you have the same passwords for all of your accounts, whether it is a game or a bank account, you should think of switching some so that it is harder for bad people to get in to all of your accounts. A good idea is to use a vpn when not on home wifi so that people can’t go through public wifi to steal your things. You should use an application that will tell you in some sort of way if someone is looking at your account or computer from a separate device. The #1 way to keep your account is to have an extremely good password that even current supercomputers can’t figure out for thousands of years.

You can also protect your phone with a password or a code of some sort so it doesn’t just open from a swipe. If your phone has an available update, it should be in your interest to actually update it since it will provide security benefits. Backing up your data is the best way to keep your information somewhere safe, because if somebody does get into your device they can encrypt it all and force you to “pay” them to get it back. This is the general information that I learned along with a lot more that I didn’t really talk about.
